We arrive at John Wayne airport at noon on Saturday, July 26, and leave from the same airport at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2. It’s only 35 minutes to San Clemente so after collecting our luggage and renting a car, we should get to the house by 1:30. Our landlady, Lynn, siad she would try to have the house ready for our occupancy a little after noon. Whooppee!

Right now we’re collectively searching for the 2008 Ivy/Neal Family Reunion Site. Several possibilities have been posted and it looks like we might find something in California which would save travel time this year when several of us need to do that.
Let’s be sure to respond to the poll Clint posted a few days ago and/or share our thinking about any specific site we discover that we like. If we can find housing for around $6000 or under, there would be all the more to help out with travel expenses and food expenses. We have seen several places with at least five bedrooms and five baths in that price category already. We don’t know is they all have space available for the last week of July but we will find out. So as soon as we can agree on a place, we will reserve it.
Can’t wait to see everyone.
Love,
Grammie

Yep,
Grammie (Shirley) wants to know if/where we should get together again this summer!
Over on the right, I’ve got a poll of the (so far) suggested locations vote for one of them, or leave your alternate suggestion here in the comments.

My quest to get the entire family blogging has reached another milestone!
Dad (Charlie) and Dee are off to Ethiopia for a year so that Dad can teach them how to run hospitals. While they were visiting over this past weekend, I got Dad set up on blogger.
Make sure to bookmark or sign up for the feed at Ivy’s In Africa!
In any case, Dad will be based out of Bahir Dar which is on the shores of a huge lake at about 5-6,000 feet so apparently it is a lot like NM but milder.
Just a reminder of all the family blogs:

Ali’s restaurant, “Seasons”, burned down yesterday afternoon. Everyone is OK although a few firefighters were injured.
Here’s the link to Ali’s Flickr stream with more pictures.
I talked to Ali and she’s a bit shaken up but doing alright.
